Fed: Gray says office chair in Perth only seat he wants
Retiring ALP national secretary GARY GRAY says he doesn't want to enter parliament.
Mr GRAY had been farewelled by the Labor party last night after seven years as campaign boss.
He told ABC Radio that last night the party had given him a very comfortable chair
for his office in Perth and that's the only seat he want's and that's where he'll be.
Mr GRAY says he has to be careful with his choice of words on the subject of entering
parliament, otherwise people will assume that's just what he wants to do.
He says on the issue Health Minister MICHAEL WOOLDRIDGE's comments about political
fundraising made in parliament yesterday, that he didn't know what Dr WOOLDRIDGE was talking
about.
And he says he doesn't think Dr WOOLDRIDGE does either.
During question time yesterday, Dr WOOLDRIDGE commented that at least his party didn't
have relationships with private corporations where money's laundered through the federal
secretariat for the benefit of some front benchers.
Mr GRAY also says former ACTU president JENNIE GEORGE should be found a place in the
Labor caucus at all costs.
