Swm:Phelps wins men's 200 metres butterfly

MICHAEL PHELPS has won the men's 200 metres butterfly final at Athens to claim his
second Olympic gold medal.

The American teenager powered to victory in an Olympic record time of one minute 54.04 seconds.

But he missed the world record of 1:53.93 he set at last year's world championships.

TAKASHI YAMAMOTO of Japan took the silver while STEPHEN PARRY won the bronze to provide
Britain with their first Olympic swimming medal since 1996.
